Message:Lucy: it was probably not out yet when you asked for it, but I do think that Debutantes was not really written for a six year old - not that it is unsuitable, but more that it is about romance and things that you would not be interested in.

Message:I get writer's block, too, Minnie, which is why your story has still not been put on the Story Club board. I have forced myself to write three thousand words a day and to do nothing else until that is achieved as I want to get Debutantes 2 finished. I know from experience that I need to force myself on and not give into myself. It happens to all writers. Don't worry.
And my husband has not read a single book out of the 45 that I have had published so don't be too hard on your dad!

Message:Minnie: Your stories are always very worthwhile and
and never dull. I'll read the latest one tomorrow morning.

Lucy: Yes I did and this is what I said: No qualifications are needed to be a writer - just talent, which you have, and lots of hard work and practice.

Which book were you looking for? And what shop? And what country?

Message:For TheButterflySisters I've taken out the paranormal element for an element of growing up first love etc. probably mind-numbingly dull but hey-ho, that's most of my works standards as prolifically expressed by pretty much everyone who has read it. But still hope you like it theres not to say just coz most of my work is dull you wont like this.

Message:Kyra: Macmillan would love to send it to you. Email Lorraine Keating at Pan Macmillan.
I'll try to go to your blog and send this message too.
Hope you enjoy it - it's sort of Downton Abbey for young teens, I suppose. The 1920s are such fun to write about.

Message:Hello there! :)
I have a book blog, Blogofabooakholic.blogpsot.com and I was wondering if it were possible if you could perhaps send me Debutantes in exchange for a honest review on my blog? My email is on my blog. I would love it if you could, but I understand if you can't. :)

Thank you so much :)
PS. I have just read your book I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend and I loved it so much! :)

Message:If I were you, Naia, I would keep a notebook and a pencil by your bed and then jot down a few words - just enough to trigger you next day. I have a netbook - a miniature laptop in a drawer by my bed so I am lucky - however your parents may not like you cutting down on your sleeping time.
I know the feeling of writing amazing chapters in your head, but I try to avoid it as they seldom work out in real life - it's OK to get ideas, or even scraps of dialogue, but when it comes to writing chapters it's best to wait until you are sitting in front of the computer or your notebook - which every you use.

Message:Alexia: I'm so pleased that you liked 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend' and hope you will enjoy the sequel as much.
I'm even more pleased that it has led you to enjoy historical fiction. I love it - love reading it and love creating it. I had such fun researching for my latest book 'Debutantes' - finding out about the wonderful clothes and the exciting music and how the newly-invented cinema (and jazz) changed the life of young women for ever.

Message:Hi Cora,
I've just finished reading Jane Austen was my Best Friend and it is probably one of the best books I have ever read! I've never really been into reading historical fiction, but I found the lifestyle of the people in that era so interesting to read about, and it really made me realise how much our world and society has changed! I loved every bit of the book, and am really looking forward to reading Jane Austen Stole My Boyfriend now :) x

Message:Lola: I'm delighted you like the two Jane Austen books - you might like to try Debutantes which is in the same sort of vein, though about a different family. I may write a third Jane Austen next year, but I will have to see.

Message:Minnie: I know nothing whatsoever about Facebook (and tend to shy away from it).
However, I think it is only commonsense to think that you should be able to remove your story, edit it and then put it back on again. You could, if you wished change the title - even a very small change would be enough if they have set up the program to reject stories of the same name from the same person.

Message:Cora I really need your help because I have a story on wattpad that I want to edit but will they still publish it if its online. Should I take it off? It's only sixteen pages online, so I could take it off and edit it so its different? Would they accept it then????

Message:It's extremely hard for anyone of any age to get published these days - a matter of luck and timing and your face fitting.
However, for anyone under eighteen the chances are minuscule.
I suppose the only hope would be if you were to write something completely original and something that only someone of your age would be able to write.
And then you would have to find an agent. Publishers never take submissions from the general public.
However, most people who break into published fiction have spent a few years honing their skills and you can do that. Remember about originality, though.
