Message:Amy: That's a great beginning to a story and I've saved very carefully until you finish it. I'm just putting on good stories for the age group just now and they must be completely finished before I can even consider putting them on the Story Board. I was getting loads of unfinished stories and they are not very interesting to read.

Patricia: I've had so many stories during the month of October that I have to pick and choose. I hope you liked seeing your story about the girl and her disabled sister on the Story Board. I thought that was very good.

Message:Dear Amy,
Funnily enough I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were getting on. No, I didn't go to Cobh library this year - it was mainly libraries in west Cork and in Ballincollig.
I think you might like the new Drumshee Chronicles - 'Murder Strikes Again' is a sequel to 'Murder at Drumshee'. Ask at Cobh library. I'm not sure how long libraries take to get the books but I think they are in the shops now.
Have a good halfterm!

Message:Rachael: I'm glad you enjoyed my talk. I'll let you know if we do get an archaeological dig at Drumshee. Which of my books do you like the best.

Patricia: I think the fact that you wrote that excellent end quickly and easily probably shows you are a real writer. I always find that the best bits of my books come the most easily (though there has to be a lot of hard work in between). Which of my new books are you reading? I'd be really interested to know how you like it.

Message:Dear Cora,
I really liked meeting you in Easons on a school trip and learning all about the under ground passage by your house. I have read your books and think they are all fantastic. I really liked 'murder at Drumshee.' Have you looked in the underground passage to see if there is any gold or ancient jewels yet? Are you writing any more books? I like books. I'm guessing you do too since you've wrote so many. When you came to visit us in Easons you told us you saw a girl in the bush when you were outside wondering what your dog, Wolf was howling at. Did you ever see her again?
From your biggest fan, Rachael Wilhite

Message:Alan: Book 1 of the new Drumshee Chronicles is called: ‘Murder Strikes Again’ and it is about Drumshee Lawschool – Ita and Mahon etc. You can see all about it at the bottom of the first, or home, page of this website. It’s below ‘Treachery at Midnight’.

Orla: I’m delighted that you like the two new Drumshee Chronicles. I hope everyone agrees with you.

Jillian: Great to hear from you again. We’re all fine here at Drumshee. How long did you stay in America?

Patricia: That’s a really excellent end to your story – very imaginative and very touching. I’ve put it all on the Story Board. I’m glad I waited for the ending; it would have been a shame to have it unfinished.

Message:Patricia: I understand what you mean. It is so important to get a good ending on your story. Take your time and send it to me when it's ready.

Shauna: I'll look at your stories tonight and let you know by tomorrow.

Alannah: 'Stone Circle' has been a great story - very exciting and with lots of twists and turns. I think it's getting near its end now, so if anyone can think of a good end for it, you can finish it off and then I will start a new story.

Message:Dear Patricia,
I really liked the two parts of the story about the girl with the disabled sister. I've got them safe and they are both very well written. The trouble is that you never finished the story and I think it's disappointing to the readers if the story isn't finished. Could you finish it and then send me the ending and I'll put it on the Story Board? I think you need to have some ending where the disabled girl proves that she is a real person and that she is valuable to her family and her able-bodied sister - but you may think of quite a different ending. The important thing is that the story must have an ending.

Message:Roisin & Shauna: I've put your story on the Story Board and I've given a few suggestions for improving it and making it easier to read.

I'm still waiting for the endings to several very good stories. There was a great one about a girl whose father is guard and she is being bullied. Please remember, everyone, that stories will only get put on the Story Board now if they have been finished so don't send them until they are finished - unless you want a tip on how to carry on.

Message:Alan: Book 14 of the Drumshee Timeline Series is now book 2 of the new Drumshee Chronicles. The name has been changed from 'Banished' to 'Treachery at Midnight'. It's the same book; just the name has been changed. You can see it on the bottom of the first page of this website. If you phone Eason's or O'Mahoney's bookshops they will tell you whether they have it in stock - I'd say that they do.

Patricia: Yes, I got my books on Thursday October 14 - six copies of each of them - it's always an exciting moment when the postman drives up the 150 metre avenue to my cottage and delivers a nice, fat parcel.
