Message:Thanks for putting my story on the Story Board! You know how you commented at the end, well you said you liked the "School Crisis" stories better. I never wrote them, a girl called Heather wrote them. I just wanted to say that to you, in case you had made a mistake.

Message:Aimee & Sinead: When I was writing Famine Secret at Drumshee I had in my mind a model of Ennistymon Workhouse that I had seen in the local library. The librarian gave me a copy of the plans. It showed where the punishment cell and the girls' and boys' yard were placed.
Glad you liked 'Gorgeous', Aimee. I'm thinking of writing a sequel. If you know any girls in first year secondary could you get them to write to me. I'd love to get an idea of how secondary school seems to them.

Patricia: I'm looking forward to your story. I really like the way that you write. It gives me a great feel of how girls of your age think. You will be one of my inspirations!

Message:Aoife: Thanks for the lovely long story. I've added it to the Christmas story file.
Denise: Yes, I did read your two poems, but I have said that I'm only going to put stories on the Story Club board. You see, a poem that only takes a few minutes to write, and to read, will occupy the same slot as a story of about two thousand words that has, perhaps, taken a week to write. I'm getting a lot of stories, so I'm not putting any poems on. in any case, I'm not a poet myself so I can't judge or offer any help.
I'd love to get a story from you. Why don't you try one?

Glad you liked the talk - yes, I am considering a sequel to Gorgeous - the trouble is that I don't know secondary school life as well as I know primary school life. Perhaps Amy Mc will write a bit for me!
Mary: I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the discussion on the Gorgeous worksheet. I'm glad your teacher found them. If anyone else wants to see them, just click on worksheets on the front page of this website.
Alannah and Sarah: I've put your stories on the Story Club board.

Message:Angela, Sam and Sarah Kirwan from St Conaire's: Many thanks for your stories. I loved the bit about the snow, Sarah. I wonder will we have snow for Christmas this year!

Patricia: As soon as a Christmas story comes I just send it straight to a special file. I'm not going to read them until December 10 as then I will be able to judge them one against another. You see sometimes when I come back from visiting schools I might be tired and might get a bad impression of a story. This way it will be more fair.

Many thanks especially to Susan, the librarian who organised the visit.
