Message: | Denise: I'd keep going with that story. Keep up the careful, interesting style of writing. Jennifer: I think reviews are a great idea. Perhaps the three prize winners would start off my sending a review of the book each won. If it's over 150 words you can post it to the Story Club - otherwise you can send it to the message board. I'll talk to Webmaster Pete about it. Alannah: I'll talk to Pete about the length of your story and see if it will fit into the Story Club slot. I suppose if it's 25 pages long then it's about 7.500 words. Is that right? Claire: I think you're right. The story is nearing an end so anyone with a good idea can finish it up. Thanks for sending congratulations to the winners. I always like a good loser.

Message: | Cora, I've already tried writing stories on Microsoft Word. I've wrote a fifteen page one called "Trouble", and I'm writing another called "Who stole it?" "Who stole it?" has twenty five pages so far. I'm doing it in chapters and I'm planning to write at least thirty pages. Do you know a publisher I could send it to when I've done and printed it? If you don't maybe sometime I could send it to you. It'd take a while, but I'd still do it.

Message: | Congratulations to the three winners, Patricia, Heather & Alannah. I have put the stories on the Story Board now. I think I'd prefer if you would hang on to the story for the January competition until January 10. The closing day will be January 29 so there is lots of time to really work at your story.

Message: | The stories for the competition were all very good, but three of them stood out as really excellent, so I decided to give three prizes instead of one. Alannah: I'm sorry you didn't get your prize on the same day as Patricia and Heather, but it should be waiting for you when you get to school tomorrow. the post must be a bit slower in Swinford. Jillian: I'm glad you like 'Gorgeous'. Denise: Yes this next section is excellent, also.

Message: | Alannah: Thanks for that information. It's very interesting for me. I'm glad that I help to make history more interesting for you. I always loved to teach history - it's like looking through a window on the past, I think. Claire: thanks for the information about the book review. Yes I did read it and I was very pleased. I think for the school story I would like people to try to make everything sound real - obviously you have to make up bits to make a good story, but make the conversation sound real and have believable characters - even the teachers should be believable. One of the reasons I thought of this competition was that Siobhan had a sentence which struck me. I think she said something like: 'It's not easy to be twelve.'

Message: | Hi Cora Did you see the book review about Treachery at Midnight in The Sunday tribune yesterday? It says that Treachery is your best Drumshee book ever. That's great about the competion in January. I'd like to write a sotry of life in school. I don't think I did the Christmas story so well. It was a bit of kids story. What way will you want the school story. Could you give us a few clues.
