Message:Ursula: Thanks for the story. I thought it was very good and very true-to-life. Do you want me to put it on the Story Board straightaway, or to keep it for the competition.
Kit & Michelle: Thanks for the messages.

Message:Cora: My mom phoned the competition person but unfortunately my story's way too long. There's four more competitions though, but I can't enter "The weird week" in one of them. Do you know any long story competitions that I could enter my story in to?

Message:I wrote a new version of "That Girl" I will read it out loud because I have just finished the story today and I was always told that from my teacher last year. And I really like the idea of having a 'Gorgeous 2.'

Message:Dear Lily,
Yes, I am thinking of writing a 'Gorgeous 2'. I'm looking for help in thinking of a new title, ideas for the next book and various things about teenagers going to secondary school.
Which part of the country do you live in, Lily?

Message:Alannah: No, I didn't guess.

Ursula: Yes, I'd love a story. The story for the competition can have any title you like but it must be a modern story, set in a modern school.

Message:Patricia: I very much liked the style of your story, but it did seem to have a few gaps in it. Try reading it aloud. I know it sounds stupid to sit in a room reading aloud to yourself, but it does work. You can always have the radio on so that your family don't think you're mad. It's even better to read it to someone, but they have to be really listening, not just pretending to listen

Message:Cora: Thank you so, so, so much for putting my story on the Story Board! I am really interested in entering my story in the competition. Do you think I should put the changes that you told me in it before I send it?
By the way, did you guess who had stolen the leather box in the story?

Message:Ursula: To enter a story, go to Story Club, then click on Story Club up on the top right-hand corner facing you. You will then see a form. You write your name, your age, and your school and then paste your story in. It's a good idea to do it in Word first and spellcheck it and start a new line when each new person starts to speak.

Message:Alannah: Your story is now on the Story Board and I've given you some advice about it. It's a wonderful story. I enjoyed it immensely. What I meant by Gothic Horror is a type of story where terrible things happen. I suppose you could say that the Baudelaire books are Gothic Horror.

The new closing date for the competition for a story set in a modern school in Ireland is February 15 2005. The story can be as long, or as short as you wish.

Message:Dear Alannah,
I've just read your story - all 60 pages and 23,000 words of it, and I am quite flabbergasted. You are certainly a very talented girl.
I'll think about the possibilities of publishing and get back to you tomorrow. It would come under the heading of Gothic Horror, I suppose. I'm not sure what publishers' view on this are. Have any of your friends or your teacher, or parents read it?
Many, many congratulations. It's a wonderful achievement.

Message:It took me months to write the story! Do you think it'd be good enough to be published and if so could you help me choose a publisher?

Message:Thanks for all the help - it's great (gr8?). Keep it coming. Yes, certainly Fern will go on being the main character in the second book, but Zara will certainly be in it. I'd say she will be more teenagery and moody, then.

The story competition is still open - in fact I think I'll extend the closing date, because, believe it or not, I only got four stories! I got about 26 at Christmas time. I'm going away next Friday so I will get Pete the Webmaster to shut down the website for about ten days then.

Please send more ideas and words. They are so useful because they trigger ideas in my head and I want to start planning the new 'Gorgeous'.
