Message:Hi Cora it's us again. Legend=great or brilliant.Ludar=loser in irish.

Message:Hi, i think there should be a limit on how many pages there are in a story and you should have a limit of how many paragraphs you can write.

Message:Cian: Thanks for the message. I'll let you know when I get a firm date for 'Doomed to Die' (Battle of Clontarf 1014) and 'A Life for a Life' which is partly set in Drumshee castle and partly in King John's castle at Limerick in the early fourteenth century.

Johannes: Thanks for the story. I've been wanting to have it on the Story Board ever since I read it in manuscript form. You might have a look at Declan o'Loughlin's story about ten stories back from yours. It's called The Well of Hope; The Spring of Illness'. I think your styles are similar.

Message:The message board problem is almost sorted out and there will be no problem with new messages.

Two very good entries to the storyline by Bridget and Cillian. I wonder what part of the world you live in, Bridget. I notice that your entries come at about five in the morning.

It will be interesting to see who comes up with a good idea for finishing the story. Make sure that, if you do have an idea, you read the whole story through first.

Message:Thanks for the advice Cora! I might actually do that. The reason for that story, was each week my teacher gives us an English story to write. And he had got a letter thing from the agriculture board. Their was a competition for a story, about farming and I wrote that in my copy for a joke. I wonder what would have happened if i entered it!?

Message:Deirdre & Nicola: Many thanks. I also would like everybody's opinion on which of the girls in 'Gorgeous 1' should feature in 'Gorgeous 2'. Zara, perhaps?

Lorcan & Lily: I'm not sure what has happened to all of the messages. I looked at the message board earlier and there were a couple of thousand messages! Perhaps the website is overloaded. Anyway, I've been on to webmaster, Pete, and he will sort it out, I'm sure.

Cillian: That's fine - I won't put the story on for the moment though as I want to see what's wrong with the website first.

Message:Siobhan: Whenever I start to read a story by you I get quite excited. You really do seem to be able to voice the feelings of a twelve-year-old. Your endings are good also, but, and I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I think the middle of your stories need to be more substantial. Build up a picture in words about what happened. Give what you said, what other people said, what happened next. It's more of a summary at the moment.
I'd love to use some of your ideas for Gorgeous book 2 (I think it will be called: 'Twice as Gorgeous'). Would that be OK. I'll mention you in the dedication.

Message:Here is my review for "Treachery at Midnight":
I thought it was excellent. I especially liked the fair at Coad. I felt as if I was watching Columba kill Conan; it seemed so real. Columba seemed very talented at drawing and Sorcha was so interesting.
I thought it was really sad when Honey was killed because Honey was one of my favourite characters. Father Brendan was really evil.
I would give "Treachery at Midnight" 10/10.

Message:Christina: I'm delighted you like the look of my books and the worksheets. Have you tried Amazon for the books. Most people in America seem to get them from there.

Ursula: My publisher likes your suggestion for a title for 'Gorgeous 2'. He thinks 'Twice as Gorgeous' sounds great. Have you any brilliant suggestions for a cover, now?
By the way, I was in Shannon, at St Pats on Monday. I must have been quite near to your school. I'd love to meet you and some of your friends and pick your brains so that Gorgeous 2 becomes a best-seller!

Message:Alannah: That's a shame. How I got it was by typing the words "writing competitions children" into Google (the search engine on the Internet). I think the BBC have one also, but I thought Listowel would be good as it is in Ireland.
The trouble is that publishers will only pick out one book in a thousand from new authors to publish and I think your age would be against you. It might be worth a try, but ring first and say how long the book is. You could try O'Brien Press. They probably publish more children's books than anyone else in Ireland and they are the only ones that get a grant from the Arts Council.
