Message:Aoife: you must be very good at reading if you could read Wolf in the Midnight Forest by yourself. I hope that you enjoy Wolf in the Frozen Mist. Since you are so clever a six-year-old you might like looking at the worksheets for these two books.
Claire: I would imagine there will be a new story soon. Yes, I agree with you, Bridget and Alannah are two gifted writers.
Ciara: My new books should be out in August. 'Doomed to Die' is a mystery and 'A Life for a Life' is an adventure.

Message:Savanha: So you and Sara are twins! I am always fascinated by twins. When I was young I wished that I had a twin and when I started writing I used twins in two of my books: 'Famine Secret' and 'Secret Spy from Drumshee'. Have either of you read these books?

Message:Vicky: That's fine - it's just that I don't want this to become a chat room where people say anything they want, knowing that they can hide behind an assumed name.

Message:Aideen: I am looking forward to my visit to your school, also, Aideen. I always enjoy Cork and I know I have a lot of fans there.

COULD EVERYONE REMEMBER THAT I NEED REAL NAMES FOR STORY CONTRIBUTIONS. IF THE GIRL WHO IS CALLING HERSELF FERN WOULD LIKE TO WRITE TO ME THROUGH THE STORY CLUB AND TELL ME WHY SHE IS NOT USING HER REAL NAME THEN I WILL THINK ABOUT IT. CONTRIBUTIONS THROUGH THE STORY CLUB ARE PRIVATE TO ME ONLY.

This is one of the endings:
She closed the book and finally knew the nightmare was over.

Message:Sara: You are by no means the only one with this problem. I get loads of stories which are really just the opening of a story. A story is not a story unless it has an ending. Why don't you practise writing a few xciting and dramatic endings which hint at a great story. When you get a really good ending, you could try writing a story to fit that ending. It could be something like this:
'And her life was never the same again. She had learned that people whom she had trusted were not worthy of her trust. But she had gained one good friend and that made everything that she had suffered seem worthwhile.'
I'm sure you can think of something better!

Message:alexia: No, I'm certainly not saying that. The more you write, the better you become and it's a great idea to experiment with all types of writing. Generally, however, the best writing comes from writing about things and people that you know.
Another point is that publishers are aware that twice as many ten-year-olds buy books as compared with thirteen-year-olds!
Are you thinking of writing a story yourself?

Message:Cora, Are you saying to Alannah she shouldn't write about 13 year olds because she is not thirteen?

Message:Alannah: I was thinking about you last night and about your ambition to get a book published. I think what would suit your type of writing is to take your own age group, and your own school setting and then turn it into a fantasy. What with the phenomenal success of Harry Potter publishers are really into fantasy at the moment and you do fantasy very well.

Message:Alexia: I think any of you can do this, but to write a book takes a lot of hard work and of application.
No publisher will look at a book which is under about eight thousand words - about twenty-four pages of A4 double-spaced.The publisher will then have a look and try to decide if 4,000 people will buy this book. If they don't think about 4,000 people will buy; well, they won't publish.
