Message:Heather: it's lovely to hear from you. Don't worry about feeling stuck for the moment. It happens to many writers and you are an excellent one. I loved your school crisis stories. Would you think of joing in the group story? That might get you going again. I will do a story competition again - probably next month.

Message:Hi Cora! It's Heather, I'm really sorry I disappeared for ages, I've just been stuck for words in stories, and I've been busy. I've started about 10 stories and can't get going on them! I feel like I just can't write anymore! Anyway, hope you had a nice summer, are you doing any story competitions soon? I'd like to have a topic to write about!

Message:Alannah: It's great to hear from you again. I've been wondering how you were getting on with your story writing.
Would you like me to put your beginning of the story on the Story Board now, or do you want to wait?

Message:Hi Alannah:
Thanks. What is your book about? All your other stories I've read have been very good.
Hi Brittany:
Thanks. Hosea is a Catholic, or maybe just religous, term that means 'give thanks'.

Message:Bridget: Thank you. You're writing's very good too. You have a very good vocabulary.
Cora: I just sent you the first chapter of a story I was thinking of writing a few days ago. The thing is, I forgot to put the title on it because I'm still thinking of it. I'll let you know when I have to title for it.

Message:Hi Alannah:
When was the last time you were on here? I hope you have good luck with your book, and that you start writing on the website once you've finished it. Your writing is great!

Message:Hi Cora! Do you still remember me? I haven't been on the website in ages because I've been really busy writing a story to send to Puffin or something. I'm taking my time with it though, because I want it to be perfect.
I might write a story to send to you now. Bye!

I think the story is going wonderfully and I can't wait to read how you will end it.

Message:Claire: I wish you the best of luck and I think you are quite right. Now is the time to get an ambition and to work towards its fulfilment. It will be too late to do that in four years time.

Bridget: I think you were right to finish the story as it's important to practise drawing stories to a conclusion. Even if you plan a long novel, you should plan the ending first.

Alison: There should be a new Gorgeous book sometime soon. It's called 'Twice as Gorgeous' - a title invented by Ursula who writes to this website

I've just read Gorgous and its the best book I've ever read. It really seems to be about girls of my age. You must know lots of them to be able to write so well about us.

Message:Hi Claire:
You're studying to be a doctor? That's really neat! I'm thinking of being a lawyer, like my dad. But if I wasn't going to be a lawyer, I'd probably chose to be a docter or nurse.
Hi Cora:
Thanks. I was thinking of the baby having some problems, and then living through them, but I figured that the story was fine just having the baby.

Message:Hi Cora & Hi Bridget
I just want to say that I may not have too much time to be writing to the website for a while. I seem to have loads and loads of homework. I'm very ambitious and I hope to be a doctor and that means getting almost perfect marks in your leaving cert (the exam we take at eighteen, Bridget) I need something like 580 points out of 600 so I am going to start work now and aim to be at the top of the class for everything.
I thought your story about your ancestors is really cool Bridget. You could write a Drumshee book (kindof) book about it.
Cora: I will always love my drumshee books and whenever I'm tired or a bit down I read them again and again.

Message:Aoife: I am looking forward to my visit. I love going to Kerry and crossing over on the ferry at Tarbert. It feels like going on holiday.
I hope your class will send me lots of stories. I remember you as a talented young writer.
I'm looking forward to meeting lots of you this winter. I am just doing my schedule, but remember, your teacher must be the one to invite me to your school.

Message:Bridget: That's great! I thought it was a very good ending and it finished the story off very nicely.
Yes, you are right, The Great Famine (as it is called over here) was not so much a famine, as a crop failure. It involved potatoes only, but unfortunately the vast majority of the peasants in the north and in the west depended purely on this crop for a year's food. When the potatoes developed the disease the result was death for millions of people.

Sarah: Yes, I remember your school. I loved your visit and it was obvious that there was a great interest in my work. I hope we meet again.

Message:Cora Harrison: Last year, (school year) you came to the Ballyhaunis Library (Mayo) and my school (Granlahahan N.S) came to see you and you were telling us about you new books and how you got the idea for 'Nuala' in 'Nuala and the Secret Wolf'.

Message:Hi Cora:
Your message was really interesting. I'm learning as much about history here as I am in school!
Did the potato famine affect all of Ireland? I know it affected some parts, but I'm not sure about all of them.
Hi Claire:
Secondary School sounds a lot like some of the schools here. There are a lot of people who start new schools each year and don't know anybody. So you like Secondary School so far?

Message:To Cora,
My teacher is reading World War 2: Rescue at Drumshee at my school. So far I think it's really good. As well as being a great story, we're also getting to know a lot of history of the war.
We are looking forward to your visit to our school, Dromclough N.S, Listowel, Co. Kerry.
See you then, from Aoife.
