Message:Amy B.: I can't find any message of yours that wasn't put on the message board. I even looked in the 'deleted' file, just in case I deleted by mistake, but it wasn't there. What was it about?

Ann Marie: Happy birthday. I hope you had a great time at the party.

Paula: It would take me ages to tell you properly what got me into writing - when I go to schools it takes me about three quarters of an hour to tell it - but I suppose the short answer is that it was buying this farm where I live and being inspired by the fact that people have lived here, probably, for about two thousand years.

Message:Paula: I love the Marita Conlon-McKenna books, also. I'm flattered that you like mine as well.

Vicki: No writer ever gets bored with praise! I can understand you feeling shy, but on the other hand it's a pity not to share your stories with others. If you want to send it to me privately I won't put it on the Story Board until you are happy for me to do so.

Aoife Trench: Thanks for the latest chapter. I'll put it on some time today when I've had a chance to read it.

Message:Paula: I had lots of favourite books, but one of them was 'Anne of Green Gables' and I see that is still around!

Amanda: I've put your story on the Story Club Board. Do you know, it is a coincidence, but I am just writing a story called 'Fabulous' and the main character in it is called Amanda and something quite amazing happens to her.

Message:Amy: Sorry you lost at the match. No, I still don't like Home & Away, but everyone is different.
Glad you like Famine at Drumshee, though. The only new children's book I have coming out is in Irish. In English it's called 'Two Bodies under the Floorboards'.
Paula: I find the easiest age to write for is probably ten to twelve year-olds. Sorry about your finger. What happened?
Anne: Lots of people have asked me to write a sequel to the Famine as they want to know what happened to the four children. I suppose millennium@drumshee is a sort of sequel.

Message:Aoife: Sorry - I got mixed up with all the Aoifes. Paula has put something on to the story now.

Paula: I'm glad you liked the 'Famine Secret'.
I think my best advice for writing stories is to think of an ending before you get started. If you do that you have some sort of 'map' in you head. If you've got some written on the computer you could send it to me for advice, and then you could add to the story bit by bit. Lots of people do that.

MIchelle: Don't worry about it. You see now I have the facility to just put messages on the board if they are sensible. Thanks for warning me.

Message:Ursula: I think you are a bit like me - I'm always happiest when I am actually writing a book.
At the moment my adult novel is totally engaging everything that I can give it. It's my big chance and I am afriad of of not making the most of it. I have discovered that English publishers are a lot more fussy than Irish ones and this book has been through lots of drafts and everyone is still worrying about the right title for it.
However, the rights to it have now been sold in America and in Germany, so it is all very exciting.

Message:Ya that would be nice- something to save for ! I'm actually happier now that i'm writing- its amazing how much i missed it !
I didn't get time to write today but will be transferring to the computer tonight and also adding more - I want to get a good start to this story and if it becomes something big then I may take a break and write a short story as i haven't finished one in a long time- so may need to do that soon
Any news ? Any more new books being released ?
