Name: Cora Harrison
Message:I have started a new story. It is called Treasure Hunt and was inspired by my visit to Ballyglass School yesterday.

Bridget: I'm not sure that I could bear to see either of those movies. Those people who brought the plane down were unbelievably heroic. I think I would prefer to read a book about it. I am a terrible person for crying at the cinema when anything sad happens!

Claire: the leaves haven't turned colour yet here, in Co. Clare, either and we are further north than you are in Cork.

Message:Hi Bridget: I just had a quick look at my atlas to see where you were over in Idaho before I wrote back. I suppose you are in the middle Fall (that's what you call autumm in America, isn't it?)
The weather has been very wet here (per usual) and the leaves havne't turned colour yet. Everything is still very green. My mother says that you have beautiful colour in your leaves over there, she thinks. What does everything look like?

Message:Hi Cora:
There were two movies made this year about September 11th. One of them was about the World Trade Center, and the other was about the people on United Flight 97 who brought the plane down before it could hit another monument.

Hi Claire:
Thanksgiving day is on the 23rd. During World War II it was switched to the week after, and then switched back to the 23rd a year or two afterward.

Message:Grace: Yes, I will do that this evening.

Kate: I did write a sequel to 'Gorgeous'. It's called 'Twice as Gorgeous', but I'm not sure whether it will be published or not. I've also written a modern book called 'Fabulous'.

Tomás: The illustrator for the Drumshee Chronicles covers is called Helen Smith and she lives in London.

Katrina: I have had many editors, but my favourite was someone called Eilis. She was always very nice about telling me which bits of book she loved (before getting down to the criticisms.)

Daniel: I am not very artistic, but I try to help with ideas expressed in words, rather than sketches. 'A Life for a Life' was probably my design (roughly speaking).

Message:Ann-Marie: Nice to hear from you. I hope your project went well. I suppose school is a bit of a shock after all the fun during the summer.

Aoife: I remember reading once that a writer said 'Most people don't realise how many taps of the keyboard go into every book.' This is true. Writing is hard work, though enjoyable, but there comes a time when lots of people just put it aside and then the story never gets finished. I think the thing to do is to have a plan before you start and then to make yourself do a little every day.

Message:I am, like, SOOO sorry that I can't keep up with adding bits onto my stories. Most of the stuff I write usually ends up unfinished and forgotten about! But anyway, tonight I am adding another few chapters onto my story 'Abandoned' because I really want to get it finished. I have worked out a plot for my story and I hope that you and other readers will like it!
Lots of Love, Aoife.

Message:Linda: I'm very flattered to think that I might have inspired you. Do let me know if can help in any way with your essay.
I don't think 'Gorgeous 2' will be coming out. The publisher who printed 'Gorgeous' thinks that Irish-published children's books don't do well in Ireland so now I am going to concentrate on English publishers.

Hi Bridget: When is your Thanksgiving Day? I remember you telling us what it is like over in America then.

Message:Cora, I've made a mistake on my entry to the story! I said it was James saying all them things, but I looked back and it was actually John! Are you able to change it? If not, its ok, I just hope everyone realises thats not what I meant to say! Thanks

Message:Grace: Thanks for your entry for the storyline - the story got a bit stuck when the summer holidays ended. It badly needs finishing off now.

Bridget: I don't know if anyone has done this, but it would be wonderful to have a book of real-life, or even imaginary stories, of people's experiences on that terrible day of September 11.

Message:Yes, I do think planning is the secret to doing a good story. When I do story writing in schools I always make the kids think of an interesting character, give that character a problem to be solved, or a goal to be achieved, and then the ending comes in the solving of the problem or the achievement (or non-achievement) of the goal. I make them plan their ending before they start on the beginning!

I'm easy about whatever you want to call yourself. It's totally up to you.

Message:Thank you so much, Cora! Actually, I've just started a story today! I'm going to work on it and plan as much as I can, because that was the problem. I started about 5 stories but had no plot thought out, so I gave up. But I wont do that now.
I know its late to be saying this after nearly 2 years...but all this time, I've been saying my name was Heather, but it was just a nickname because I didnt want my name given out. But now I've decided its alright, and you can start calling me Grace, if its not too confusing! I realise theres another grace on here, so maybe Grace T? I completely understand if it becomes to confusing, you can just call me heather again if that happens! But I just thought I'd come out with that! Ok then....Bye, & thank

Message:Heather: It was lovely to hear from you again and yes, I do remember you very well (you were from Mayo, weren't you) and I remember your stories which were very talented.

Please don't worry about not writing. Just give yourself time and something will come to you. I think that you probably, as you grew older, became more self-critical and certainly more self-conscious and that inhibited you.

It was great to hear from you and I hope you drop me a message from time to time, and a story whenever you feel that you want to.

Message:Cora,
Just to let you know, that I feel fairly cautious writing this message, because I know that I never sent messages for nearly a year, and im very sorry for that, i regret it. You probably dont remember me, I used to go on sooooo much on your site, & I sent stories in all the time! But then, I started to feel a bit like i couldnt write anymore, and my stories werent good enough...........so I stopped. I really wish I hadnt, and now, if you're not offended by my wish to just suddenly be accepted back, I'd like to start again.......do you mind?
