Message:Linda: I'm very flattered to think that I might have inspired you. Do let me know if can help in any way with your essay.
I don't think 'Gorgeous 2' will be coming out. The publisher who printed 'Gorgeous' thinks that Irish-published children's books don't do well in Ireland so now I am going to concentrate on English publishers.

Message:Hi Cora: School's going well so far though second year is harder than first year.
Hi Bridget: When is your Thanksgiving Day? I remember you telling us what it is like over in America then.
Hi Grace: I finished the story. I hope that was Ok and that you didn't want to do it yourself.

Message:Cora, I've made a mistake on my entry to the story! I said it was James saying all them things, but I looked back and it was actually John! Are you able to change it? If not, its ok, I just hope everyone realises thats not what I meant to say! Thanks

Message:Grace: Thanks for your entry for the storyline - the story got a bit stuck when the summer holidays ended. It badly needs finishing off now.

Bridget: I don't know if anyone has done this, but it would be wonderful to have a book of real-life, or even imaginary stories, of people's experiences on that terrible day of September 11.

Message:Yes, I do think planning is the secret to doing a good story. When I do story writing in schools I always make the kids think of an interesting character, give that character a problem to be solved, or a goal to be achieved, and then the ending comes in the solving of the problem or the achievement (or non-achievement) of the goal. I make them plan their ending before they start on the beginning!

I'm easy about whatever you want to call yourself. It's totally up to you.

Message:Thank you so much, Cora! Actually, I've just started a story today! I'm going to work on it and plan as much as I can, because that was the problem. I started about 5 stories but had no plot thought out, so I gave up. But I wont do that now.
I know its late to be saying this after nearly 2 years...but all this time, I've been saying my name was Heather, but it was just a nickname because I didnt want my name given out. But now I've decided its alright, and you can start calling me Grace, if its not too confusing! I realise theres another grace on here, so maybe Grace T? I completely understand if it becomes to confusing, you can just call me heather again if that happens! But I just thought I'd come out with that! Ok then....Bye, & thank

Message:Heather: It was lovely to hear from you again and yes, I do remember you very well (you were from Mayo, weren't you) and I remember your stories which were very talented.

Please don't worry about not writing. Just give yourself time and something will come to you. I think that you probably, as you grew older, became more self-critical and certainly more self-conscious and that inhibited you.

It was great to hear from you and I hope you drop me a message from time to time, and a story whenever you feel that you want to.

Message:Cora,
Just to let you know, that I feel fairly cautious writing this message, because I know that I never sent messages for nearly a year, and im very sorry for that, i regret it. You probably dont remember me, I used to go on sooooo much on your site, & I sent stories in all the time! But then, I started to feel a bit like i couldnt write anymore, and my stories werent good enough...........so I stopped. I really wish I hadnt, and now, if you're not offended by my wish to just suddenly be accepted back, I'd like to start again.......do you mind?

That's an incredible story! Even the animals were brave! I've never heard that story, but one of my favorites is when two firefighters were helping a woman with a broken leg down the stairs and she asked them to leave her and go help other people, but they argued with her as the building fell down around them. I dont' think any of them were hurt.

Message:Bridget: Yes, it was a terrible tragedy. The one happy thing was where the Guide Dog was released by his master, climbed his way out and then came back and fetched his master out by a possible route for both of them. I loved that story.

Amy: I've added the extra bit to your story. I think it's a good idea to put in some descriptive passages. it makes it easier for your readers to imagine themselves into the story.

Aoife: Could you have a look and see if the story you sent me belongs to an earlier one.

Message:Bridget: Yes, I remember the day very well. Shortly before it happened, a woman from New York came to see me as she was doing a thesis about children's books dealing with The Great Famine in Ireland. When I saw the news on Sky Television I emailed her and she told me that she had spent the night before driving a friend around the hospitals of New York with a photo of her friend's husband. Unfortunately, he was never found. This made it all very real to me.

Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of September 11th, the day the planes were hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon, the Twin Towers, and almost crashed someplace in Virginia. The last plane was taken over by the passengers before it got there, though, and it crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. I wasn't sure if you knew about it or not.

Message:Hi Cora
Back to school tomorrow. I've been doing a bit of work during the last week as I want to be top of the class this year but this weekend my mam told me to relax so I've been rereading all of my Drumshee books. I know lots of them almost off my heart but I still love them. Thanks for writing them and giving so many people the pleasure of reading them. I don't think I'll ever grow out of them!
