Message:Hello Bridget, I read you song on St Lucy and I really love it. Like Helen, I would love to have the music. You are good at sonnets, I couldn't write one to save my life, I think peoms are much easier. From Carmel

Message:Hello Miss Harrison, I am glad you think my English is so good. My teachers think so too. I live in Ireland but I am really French. I have been living here for only one and a half years but I used to learn English in France as well. Christmas does seem to be looming very close though doesn't it! We are leaving Ireland a few days before Christmas so that we may have it in France so I may be absent from the sight for a few weeks. It would be great to have a poem section and a christmas story competion sounds good to though I prefer poems to stories. Thankyou for taking my suggestion, From Helen

Message:: Helen: Your English is so excellent that I assumed you must be English (or Irish). Are you French?
I think that a special place for poems is a great idea - perhpas we could call it the Poetry Board.

It'll probably be after Christmas before it can be done, but I will talk to my Web Master and see what he thinks.
Last year, or was it the year before, we had a competition for the best Christmas Story and it might be a good idea to revive that. I must say that I love Christmas.

Message:Hello Miss Harrison, I would like to make a little suggestion for your sight, I have said before that I very much like it but perhaps, considering that some people are writing them, you should make a poem section. Maybe, if you did, you could have copetitons with people writing poems about your books, or about characters in them. Some very good poems, though they may be long, could be made using the main theme of some of your books. Plus it is interesting to put a story into a poem or visa versa. You might consider it, I think it a good idea. Au revoir Respectfully yours (we learnt in school to put that at the end of English letters or messages) From Helen

Message:Bonjour again Bridget, I forgot to right in my last message that I think you sonnets very nice, but your Santa Lucia song is ravissante! St Lucy is one of my favorite saints and I wish there was a way you put the music on the sight. Perhaps you could write it in ABCDEFG method so I could try it on the piano. Anyway, even in writing it is wonderful. I wrote a poem for my brother Liam some years ago and, when read in a song-sing kind of way it sounds nice. Don't believe it though, liam is not that great! Tchoa! from Helen

Message:Bonjour Bridget! I like Emily Dickinson too, she writes lovely poems. I'm glad you liked my poem, I sent in another one which my little brother, Marcus, really likes. It was for a halloween party. It's a bit wierd but I think it is funny. I will send in another one called 'My Koala'. I wrote it when I was seven or eight after going to a trip to Australia. I tried to pat a koala in a wild life sancutary there and found him rather bad tempered. It's not very good, I had to transalate it into English, but I think it is sweet! Au revoir and merci, From Helen

Message:Kristine: That's interesting what you said about writing well when you are exhausted. I often find that I write well when I'm very relaxed and then the words just flow out.
Good luck with your exams. I'm sure that you will do well.
Bridget: No, I don't think of you as isolated. I just said that 'it might seem as if you would be isolated'. Having known you for a while I know that you lead a very sociable life. I wonder how you will find school. I myself didn't go to school until I was fifteen (due to illness) and although I enjoyed the fun and company, I found a lot of the lessons quite boring as I was used to doing things at my own pace.

Message:Hi Cora:
I just put on a song I wrote during a swim meet this weekend. It would probably have a much better rhythm put to the music I made up, but right now it's more of a poem.
It's about St. Lucy, who was martyred when she was only a teenager. Her feast day is December 13th.

Message:Hi Helen:
I loved your poem! I can write sonnets OK, but poems are so much harder for me because I have to make up my own rhythm and rhyme scheme. Maybe that's why I like e.e. cummings and Emily Dickinson. I tried to write a poem, but I was too embarrassed to show anyone, and now I can't find it!

Message:Hi Cora:
Thank you. I'm not really isolated, though. I know a lot of people in church and Judokan Jiu-Jitsu, but I don't know three million people the way kids in normal schools do. I'm starting public high school next year (from fourteen to seventeen) and I'll probably be one of those kids. I have to admit that the people I'm closest to are on the swim team. I also have a lot of adults I can talk to just like friends.

Not even halfway through Christmas exams. Have Irish and History exams tomorrow, had maths part 2 today. Studying wrecks my head! Feel that if I continue my brain will explode!
Am starting, now, chapter five of Elementi...more family problems to come. Yay. Am exhausted but find that is usually the best time to write...no energy to get distracted! Shall post as soon as poss., sorry to keep you waiting.
x Kristine.

Message:Bridget: Yes, I liked your sonnets. You lead an interesting life. I suppose the home-schooling (though obviously it works well on educational side) might seem as if it isolates you, nevertheless you have all this social life with the swim-club.

Helen: So you live in France - my favourite country and my favourite language (and wine!). What part of France do you live in? I also wondered whether you had Irish connections...

Message:Salut again Miss Harison, Thankyou for answering my massage. I noticed one of the girls sent in some poems, I don't know if it was right to but I have sent in one that I wrote after a trip to Sydney in Australia. I put it in the story club page, I hope you like it, it is very funny. Au revoir, from Helen

You can put the sonnets on if you want tob. I only had a week to write and memorize them, so they're a little rough in some places.

Message:Dear Bridget,
I love the form of the sonnet - I think it has a great dignity about it. I would love to see you yours - and to put them on the Story Board. However, if you don't want to do that, that's OK.
I'm afraid that I have never managed to write a poem which was not just a piece of doggerel. I like writing, but poetry is not my thing. You are obviously multi-talented.

Message:Hi Cora:
I wrote three sonnets for a speech festival in October. I don't know if they're very good, but sonnets sound so much more impressive than poems, even though they're much easier. Poems can do anything while sonnets have a formula. I tried writing a poem, but I was so embarrassed about reading it out loud that I decided to write sonnets instead. Did you ever write a sonnet or poem?

Message:Helen: I found your email very interesting.
Actually, I personally believe that 'Treachery at Midnight' is my best book for children.
I think that a medieval monk, like all human beings, could be deluded by the sense that what he was doing was the will of God (or Allah, or anything else that people use to justify the doing of terrible deeds). People, who lived a thousand, or two thousand years ago, were just as capable of doing evil as those who live nowadays.
However, I admire you for saying what you said and your opinion is just as valid as mine and we have to agree to differ.
And, yes, I like the Wolf books too. I wrote them when my dog Wolf was a gorgeous puppy.

Message:Bonjour Miss Harrison, I like a lot of your books, one of them, 'Viking at Drumshee' is excellent! I think your worst is 'Treachery at Midnight' my Mother wants to throw it out. It had such a good story line but would a real-life Irish monk back in those days be as rotten as Father Brendan? I like your other books though, the 'wolf' ones are cute. I also like your website. It is so straight forward and simple. Maybe i will send you a story, I like writing. From Helen

Message:Aoife: Yes, I do think you should continue with your story. I love it - but there's no rush.

Kristine: The same goes for you. I know how busy school gets around this time of the year. It's great to think that tomorrow is December - November always seems such a dreary month.

Bridget: No, of course I wouldn't mind. I would be delighted. They might be inspired to send some stories of their own - or else someone might finish off the present story and then perhaps we could have a more December or Christmas story.

Sorry it's taking me so long to get my story up, but I've been writing it in a notebook and I haven't had much of a chance to type it up.
My mom showed your website to a friend of ours who is a sixth grade teacher, and she is probably going to show it to her class. Is that okay?

Message:Bridget: They read it from this website. I'm amazed at the number of kids who read all of the stories

Carmel: another great story, though I wonder whether you lack confidence a little in yourself that you feel you have to base your stories on those of other writers. Your stories are completely original; I don’t mean that you are copying in any way. It’s just that I would love to see a story based on your own life. Have you ever tried that?
Aoife Trench: Have you thought of adding some more to your story. I'd love to see it.

Sarah: Do you want to add some more to your story before I put it on? I think it needs some more in order to interest the reader into going back when more is added.
