Message:Hi Cora:
You can put the sonnets on if you want tob. I only had a week to write and memorize them, so they're a little rough in some places.

Message:Dear Bridget,
I love the form of the sonnet - I think it has a great dignity about it. I would love to see you yours - and to put them on the Story Board. However, if you don't want to do that, that's OK.
I'm afraid that I have never managed to write a poem which was not just a piece of doggerel. I like writing, but poetry is not my thing. You are obviously multi-talented.

Message:Hi Cora:
I wrote three sonnets for a speech festival in October. I don't know if they're very good, but sonnets sound so much more impressive than poems, even though they're much easier. Poems can do anything while sonnets have a formula. I tried writing a poem, but I was so embarrassed about reading it out loud that I decided to write sonnets instead. Did you ever write a sonnet or poem?

Message:Helen: I found your email very interesting.
Actually, I personally believe that 'Treachery at Midnight' is my best book for children.
I think that a medieval monk, like all human beings, could be deluded by the sense that what he was doing was the will of God (or Allah, or anything else that people use to justify the doing of terrible deeds). People, who lived a thousand, or two thousand years ago, were just as capable of doing evil as those who live nowadays.
However, I admire you for saying what you said and your opinion is just as valid as mine and we have to agree to differ.
And, yes, I like the Wolf books too. I wrote them when my dog Wolf was a gorgeous puppy.

Message:Bonjour Miss Harrison, I like a lot of your books, one of them, 'Viking at Drumshee' is excellent! I think your worst is 'Treachery at Midnight' my Mother wants to throw it out. It had such a good story line but would a real-life Irish monk back in those days be as rotten as Father Brendan? I like your other books though, the 'wolf' ones are cute. I also like your website. It is so straight forward and simple. Maybe i will send you a story, I like writing. From Helen

Message:Aoife: Yes, I do think you should continue with your story. I love it - but there's no rush.

Kristine: The same goes for you. I know how busy school gets around this time of the year. It's great to think that tomorrow is December - November always seems such a dreary month.

Bridget: No, of course I wouldn't mind. I would be delighted. They might be inspired to send some stories of their own - or else someone might finish off the present story and then perhaps we could have a more December or Christmas story.

Message:Hi Cora:
Sorry it's taking me so long to get my story up, but I've been writing it in a notebook and I haven't had much of a chance to type it up.
My mom showed your website to a friend of ours who is a sixth grade teacher, and she is probably going to show it to her class. Is that okay?

Message:Bridget: They read it from this website. I'm amazed at the number of kids who read all of the stories

Carmel: another great story, though I wonder whether you lack confidence a little in yourself that you feel you have to base your stories on those of other writers. Your stories are completely original; I donít mean that you are copying in any way. Itís just that I would love to see a story based on your own life. Have you ever tried that?
Aoife Trench: Have you thought of adding some more to your story. I'd love to see it.

Sarah: Do you want to add some more to your story before I put it on? I think it needs some more in order to interest the reader into going back when more is added.

Have kids in schools seen the MARAUDERS? I don't mind if they have, I just didn't know.

Message:Bridget: Why don't you put it on. It will motivate you to add to it and if you change it, that's OK, because you can just send me the final version. It's interesting for others to see how a story grows. I know that lots of kids in the schools around here have read and enjoyed The Marauders.

I'm writing another story right now, but I'm not sure if I should put it on yet because I'm probably going to change it a lot, and it's already pretty long and I've just barely started.

Message:Bridget: Yes, I'm sure your friends would be too sensible to mind. They are probably quite flattered.
Kristine: That was a great entry to the storyline. Unfortunately, everyone else seems to have dried up - I ussually find that happens once it gets to page three. Do you think we should finish it off?

She doesn't really know that I based a character on her, but I don't think she'll mind.
I actually base most characters on people I know. The kids in the MARAUDERS were all based on friends of mine.

Message:Dear Ursula,
It's lovely to hear from you and I must say that I admire you for resolving to make time for writing this year when I know that you are so busy with your exams.
My adult book won't be out until next May - it's taking for ages as they had loads of attempts at finding a title, and then a cover that everyone approves of. However, finally everyone seems in agreement. I've written book 2 and now am ploughing my way through book 3. I actually find it quite hard as I've never written about the same person for three books in a row before.

Message:Hi Cora: Not really. It's an annual thing in our school, and the 1st years, their 5th year monitors and the 1st year year head all organize it. It was long enough this year - there's 75 first years and there was only something like 40 last year.

Message:Bridget: Did she mind that you based a character on her - or did she recognise herself? I often start off basing a character on someone I know, or on something that really happened, but then it starts to change as the story grows. No one has yet objected!

Message:Actually, most people in my swimming group go in the mornings for extra practice, but we go in the afternoons, too. I'm not training to be an Olympic swimmer, but there are two girs on the swim team who could very well get there. One of them is a good friend of mine, and I based a character on her.

Rianna: Another wonderful contribution to the Storyline. I wonder whether you have any of your own stories on your computer? If so, I'd love to see them. You do write so very well.
