Message:How lovely to hear from Glenann, again. I think of you often and am so pleased that I saw your lovely school and the famous glens of Antrim.

I went to Cobh - the place from which the Titanic sailed - during the summer. I forget whether I told you that I was born there and once, when I was nineteen (about fifty-five years ago) I sailed out in a liner from there to France. Even then the liner couldn't come into harbour so the passengers had to go out in a small boat, just like Tabitha and Robert did in my story.

Message:Dear Cora,
At the minute we are reading Titanic Voyage from Drumshee. Primary 7 have already read Famine Secret at Drumshee. Everyone in the class liked the book. Titanic Voyage from Drumshee is very interesting. The story makes you want to read on. Most people in our class like Tabitha the best because she is different from the rest of the characters. We want to find out what happens to the children when the Titanic hits the iceberg. Later in the term we will be visiting the Titanic quarter in Belfast. We have a picture of you on our classroom door. It is of when you visited our school. Congratulations to Clare on winning the U21 hurling on Saturday. We hope you are in good form. Thank you for your interesting books.

Message:Anita: I would so love to write another Jenny and Jane book - Jenny as a young married lady giving Jane advice on her love affairs - I would write it in a shot if my publisher could be convinced that there is a market out there...

Message:Lily: Sorry, I wouldn't know you well enough to be able to recommend something - only to say that it should be something that you know about - perhaps how one life in the 20th-21st century seems to repeat what happened centuries earlier. I think that I could write a story like that, but as for an essay, it sounds as though it should be something political.

Message:thanks, Bob, glad you liked the books.

Ellie: Whenever I'm tired or feel strained I read Georgette Heyer. They are funny, well-written and very relaxing. I suppose any author who can create a different world can perform that function.

Anyway, I have really exciting news because your publisher in Brazil has just bought the second of my two Jane Austen book and so it will be issued in Portuguese. Message:Hi Cora!I messaged you a LONG time ago when I read your books on Jane Austen. They are still two of my favourite books. You also recommended me to read Georgette Heyer and I'm so glad you did, I love her! I've been on holiday and took lots of them to read. Also I wanted to recommend to you the book "Mr Darcy Goes Overboard" by Belinda Roberts which is a modern sea side version of Pride and Prejudice in a town near where I live! Also did you see the YouTube series "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries"? This too is also a good modern take on the story set in America. Are there any tips you could give me on how to go abut writing a romance novel? I would really love to give it a shot because I love the genre so much!
Thank you for your amazing books!

Message:Yes, of course, I should have guessed.

Well, TWO MAD DOGS - that's a funny book because every thing in it really was done by two two puppies that I had - all except one thing. I wonder whether you can guess that one thing???

The illustrations were drawn with pen and ink and so were always black and white. I think that they are clever and cute. Unfortunately colour illustrations are very expensive and usually only bit publishers can afford them.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed that little book. It was fun to write and to look back over that day when I came home from work and found a goldfish on the mat in front of the fireplace! Luckily there was so much mud and water that it was still alive.
