Message:Cora: I have a chapter plan made out anyway, I'm sort of an obsessive planner when it comes to writing, despite how I generally end up changing everything anyway! I'm planning between eighteen and twenty chapters.

Message:aoibheann: This is the best story you have done (for the Story Club, anyway,) so don't spoil it by rushing. Have a good think about what would make a good end.

Kristine: That's great - I was just checking. Don't rush - let the ending come naturally when the story starts to come together.

Message:Sarah: Thanks! What school is Lauren in?
Cora:Thanks. She doesn't really need to die, I suspose. She could still be miffed at Rainbow though.

Message:Kristine: That's fine - it's just what you should be doing.
Do you know how this story is going to end? If not, you should be turning some over in your mind a few possible endings.

Message:Aoibheann: The best way to write that last chapter would be to imagine yourself coming back into your own school (and boarding schools are not so different from day schools). You're in the classroom (you came through the French window), you are reading the poem, you hear the noise, you come out.
Now imagine who's there. Pupils - just do a few sentences describing where they are and what they are doing. Teachers - again a few sentences naming them and describing their reactions. then you have to decide who is going to tell Rainbow about what has happened. I reckon a teacher or even the Principal would be best, but you can make up your own mind.
(Does Skye really have to die?)

Message:Aoibheann: I'm not sure of this business about adding in 'the little kid' at this late stage of the story. I don't think you need to be so complicated. all you need is a sentence or two to keep Rainbow out of the way for an hour or so and then to come back into school and to have everyone standing around white-faced, teachers as well as pupils, and full of the news about what happened to Skye

Message:I loved your last chapter, Aoibheann. When you come to write the next one, remember that you will have to give a convincing reason as to how Skye was involved in an accident - remember we last left her in her bedroom, so a road accident may not have been possible in the time that it took for Rainbow to tour the classrooms - unless you want me to to insert a bit into chapter nine which tells how Rainbow went and hid in the garden for an hour and then went through the English classroom on her way - or something like that. Anyway, think about it - like me, you are a rusher and sometimes we 'rushers' have to tell ourselves to slow down, take our time, and fully think out the situation!

Message:Aoibheann: Well done! I was afraid that this story wasn't going to get finished and so was delighted to get another chapter. I think you could start leading up towards the finish, now. I hope you have still got that poem about bullying. I think that would be very good to have as a means of changing Rainbow and her attitude - also the episode with Skye, of course.
Kristine: I liked that twist - something like that keeps the reader involved in the story.
