| Message: | Brigid: My first book was called 'Nuala & her Secret Wolf' and was about a girl who rescued a wolf cub and reared it secretly - eventually it saved her life. I don't think I am very famous, but I do enjoy being an author. Once of my treats recently was to have a champagne and smoked salmon breakfast with one of editors on a rooftop restaurant in Trafalgar Square in London. My faourite Drumshee book is 'Dark Days at Drumshee' which is about the time of Oliver Cromwell. | |

| Message: | Conor: I get your point and it's silly of me to try to evaluate until the book is finished - remember that the Skullduggery books are about 40,000 words, though and it's all a matter of proportion. Perhaps we might meet one day - I'm not too keen on school visits at the moment because I am very busy, but my ten-year-old grandson will be coming in the Christmas holidays and he read your first bit and thought it was fantastic. I bet he would like to meet you and perhaps we could arrange something. | |

| Message: | See, I like to put in some speech and stuff like that because this is actually my novel. When I have it finished I'll be sending it away for evaluation. But I read the Skullduggery Pleasant series and I like the way that the conversations go, as they make the story more interesting. Plus, this book has an intricate backstory so I have to explain some stuff. Also, if you would be interested, I would love it if you would come Kilshanny N.S. Thanks! | |

| Message: | Conor: That's the 64 dollar question - and impossible to answer. I've given up answering questions like that. The easy answer is 'yes'; the most like is 'I don't know' - but the answer is not 'no', if that is any help. I will advise though, that it is worth making it very fast moving and cutting out anything that slows the pace. I thought the beginning was excellent, but then it slowed down. Try to keep the action going and only give information in one or two sentences in between. ~whenever you find yourself explaining or giving a lecture, then stop. | |

| Message: | Conor: Times are very hard in the publishing world. But, nowadays, a more exciting prospect has opened up where you can self-publish to e-book - either through Amazon for a Kindle, or as an app for an ipad. I know very little about either - except that some people have started like this and ended up selling a million copies - usually started up by selling the books free or for something very small and then increasing the price as they became more popular. I know even less about 'apps'. But if you have access to a computer you can find out about these things - I think it might be an ideal way for teenagers to start in the world of books - after all they must know, better than adults, what appeals to their age group. | |

| Message: | Taiane: That's horrible - to lose a piece of work on the computer - very discouraging. The best thing is to start re-writing as fast as possible while it is in your head. That works better than you would think. Yes, you will be able to get 'Jane Austen Stole My Boyfriend' on Amazon - also 'Debutantes'. I don't think that you would like 'The London Murder Mysteries' as much as 'Debutantes'. | |

| Message: | Hey, Cora! I miss you! Kisses, Taiane. | |
