| Message: | Cora: I've read that series, it wasn't the sort of stuff that I usually read, but I did like it, I thought it was really imaginative. It made me think about how, when you're writing fantasy, it really is totally limitless, you can literally write whatever your heart desires. When I write fantasy, however, I always find myself pulling back on my ideas, thinking, "No, that's totally ridiculous!", but 'Northern Lights' really showed me that you don't have to do that and that fantasy can be whatever you want it to be. | |

| Message: | Sarah: I think I was inspired by living in a place where people have lived for over two thousand years. I wanted to tell their stories as I imagined them. Aoibheann: Have you got a date for your story? I was wondering when you imagined it taking place. Kristine: Have you ever read 'Northern Lights'? | |

| Message: | Cora: Journey to the River Sea? It's not one of my favourites by her, but she does these lovely historical romances, really beautiful, right up my street. She has an amazing one called "The Secret Countess", it's on my list of favourite books. I love her writing style. | |

| Message: | Sarah Patton: Yes, I would agree with you about Jacqueline Wilson. On the other hand, you have to judge a writer by the age group she writes for and there is no doubt but that she is hugely popular. Aoibheann: I'm very much looking forward to your next story, btu do take time to do a little planning - and above all, know how you want the story to end (you can always change it if you get a better idea) Kristine: I do mean to read Stephanie Meyer and I will let you know what I think when I do so. I think my objection to vampires probably applies to younger children than you. I read Darren Shan's first book and didn't care for it. | |

| Message: | Aoibheann: Happy Birthday! Cora: Stephenie Meyer is just amazing, her "Twilight" saga is really well-written, although I know you're not fond of vampires so maybe it's not for you. Anyway, I've just sent in the next chapter of "Anywhere But Here". | |

| Message: | Aoibheann: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I've been interested in the lists - I've read a few Jacqueline Wilson books - was very impressed by the first one that I read where a girl was in touch with her best friend who was killed in an accident - but less so with many of the later ones which I felt were rather lazy and re-using plots and characters. I haven't read Stephanie Meyer, but am aware of what a phenomenon she is. Have read Jodi Curtin and thought them good - have never heard of Chris Higgins - male or female? | |

| Message: | Krisitne: I agree with you. The growth in the main character is what makes the difference between a good story and unsatisfactory story. Aoibheann: You were right; chapter nine had disappeared! I've reinstated it, but before anything else happens, take a copy of the story (just highlight, copy and then paste it into a microsoft word document) If I were you I would polish it up (make sure that Rainbow is always spelled with a capital letter) and also check that all the details are correct. And perhaps have something like two weeks go by when Skye and Rainbow or good friends, and then Rainbow reads the letter... | |
