Message:I love writing both of them, Eimear.

It would be really helpful if you and perhaps some of your friends could make a list of the things that you enjoyed about 'Gorgeous'. Perhaps your teacher would be very kind and help - it is wonderful for a writer to get that sort of feed-back.

Message:I write lots of books, Eimear, many of them for adults, so that's a difficult question.
I think, but perhaps it is because they are the last books that I have written for children, that at the moment my favourites are 'Debutantes' and its sequel 'Debutantes in Love'.
Yes, you are right - it's because of being a teacher that I am interested in the bullying issue - and I have known people like Zoe - and it was always something that I worried about as I know that it can make children very unhappy at school and that is a shame.

I'm very sorry but I don't do school visits any more as I am getting a bit old and am very busy writing books.

But do, please, send any questions here to my website and I shall do my best to answer them.

Message:Dear Amy and Iaoise,
It's lovely to hear from you both - and I do love both of your names. Amy has always been a favourite of mine and Iaoise is so unusual - I've never heard it before.

I'm delighted that you liked 'Gorgeous' - I had planned and I think written some of a sequel to it, but the publisher gave up children's books. Some day I might publish it myself. I would like to finish Fern's story.

Message:Well that makes a link between us, Taiane, because, seventy years ago I had very severe asthma which went on until I was about fifteen years old (in 1954). There was very little understanding of the condition in my youth and the only thing that anyone seemed to want to do was to tell me to stay in bed - and so I lay in bed - at home and in hospital - and I read and I read and I read.

I'm glad you have a more enlightened doctor who ordered you to exercise.

You might be interested to read a classic book, called 'Ballet Shoes' by Noel Steathfeild - I think that you would enjoy it.

Message:Oh, I'm so happy that they will publish here in Brazil soon! I hope they buy your bookserie "Debutantes" too. I want to read it so much!
I'm really liking learning about Gaphic Design... I'm learning how to make animations! It's so cool!
I always wanted to learn ballet, but my family couldn't pay for me... But I was sick, I have asthma (I think it's how you refer "asma"), so the doctor told us that I had to do some exercise to improve my breathing, so I choose ballet, and we found a place that is cheap to learn!
