Message: | Aoibheann: I've left 'Twice as Gorgeous', but I've 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend' coming out in March and I think you might enjoy that because it is about a shy girl making friends with a lively one and then having fun, going to dances etc. - like an eighteenth century version of 'Gorgeous'. Emer: The story you sent reads like a good plan for a story. You could work on it a bit and then write it as a story for people to enjoy reading. You need a bit of suspense - a time when everything seems to be going wrong - something to keep your readers interested.

Message: | Jill: Thanks for your message. I hope you enjoy Gorgeous. Is it raining in Clarinbridge? It is here so I am sitting in my spare bedroom typing my new book and looking out at the rain. It feels nice and cosy indoors and I'm lucky to have a job where I don't need to go out. When it stops raining I shall take my dog for a walk.

Message: | Emily: George says ‘Hi’. He likes other dogs. Yes, the story about the girl is as true as I can make it. I can’t really explain it. Sally-Anne: I so understand what you are saying. When I was young I was really put off stories by people criticising my handwriting and spelling. Please don’t be put off. These things don’t matter that much. Agatha Christie made millions and she could neither write nor spell! Send me what you have and I will just look at the ideas and help as much as I can. Laura: I’m so pleased that you liked my visit. It’s very difficult for me to choose a favourite book. It’s like as if they are all my children – if you can understand what I meant by this. Sally-Ann: Don’t worry – it sounds promising!
