Message:Megan: Thanks for writing.

It's a while since I have written 'Famine Secret' but I remember doing a lot of research for it - including reading some old newspapers that were published at that time.

The other day when I was tidying my cupboard I came across a plan of Ennistymon Workhouse. Hav e you got to that part yet?

I'm so pleased to hear you say that you are thinking of trying a Jane Austen book. When I wrote I WAS JANE AUSTEN'S BEST FRIEND that was one of my ambitions - to bring the work of Jane Austen to a new audience.
At the moment I am editing book 2 - JANE AUSTEN STOLE MY BOYFRIEND. This is more about Jane, and her flirtations and fun, but it is also about Jenny and Captain Thomas.

Message:Hi Cora! I just finished 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend' a few minutes ago and I absolutely fell in love with it. You really gave me a different perspective on Jane Austen and her family and now I'm dying to read all of her novels! I especially loved the romance Captain Williams and Jenny. I really look forward and hope to see more of your work!

Message:Nora: Was Mallesh your favourite character?
It might be a good idea for him to drop in to see the boys in one of the future books. I'm just about to write book 4 so I might use him in that. So now you have inspired me!

Message:Carola: Your English is excellent! I could not imagine being able to speak Dutch as well as that.
I'm delighted you liked 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend'. I got a lot of inspiration for the character of Jane from the funny stories she wrote when she was a young teenager and I tried to make Jenny to be completely opposite to her.

Message:Kristine: Don't worry about it - I fully understand. I must say these days I feel as if I have taken on a few too many books, myself.
However, I've been shortlisted for the Hillingdon and the Stockton Book of the Year Awards so it will be a great boost if I get one of those!

I hope you are well, Sarah.,

Message:Cora: I just wanted to apologise for not updating my story...I'm doing the Leaving Cert this year so school work is really taking up most of my time! I just wanted to let you know that I haven't just abandoned it or left it unfinished...I have the best of intentions to complete it, but I don't see that happening at the moment...

Message:Sarah, I'd suggest 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend' if you like a long book that is about romance - but if you like something fast-moving and exciting you could try 'The Montgomery Murder'.

Message:Thanks, Ellen, I'm glad that you like the books.
Oddly enough, sometimes something you read while researching brings an idea.
Otherwise I suppose because I read a lot I have lots of ideas in my head.
Have you read The Montgomery Murder? That is my latest book - it's a bout London, not Ireland

Message:Lisa: Yes, I meant in the early days of the sixteenth century - and afterwards.
I've a feeling that there was one of the clan, called 'the blind abbot', who was prominant in the time of Queen Elizabeth I.
You will probably find quite a lot about the family on the Internet if you look it up - where do you live - Ireland or America?
