Message:Goodness, Aoife, that must be a very long time ago - in the last century in fact! It was probably about 1997 0r 1998.

Minnie: I think that there are four of The London Murder Mysteries out now and the fifth will be out in the beginning of January.

Débutantes is French, but it is used in English a lot. Young ladies of aristocratic (and rich) families used to be introduced to the king or queen when they were about eighteen years old and that was their introduction into society. They used to have a wonderful season, then - about six months of balls and house parties.
Début in French means beginning and I suppose a débutante was at the beginning of her life as an adult. Over here in Ireland they have a Debs ball for the school

Debutantes, is that in a different language? Sounds French, although I could be wrong! I can't wait to buy it!
Thankyou for saying my next part of my story is good, I really appreciate it. I can't wait to hear your constructive criticism!

Message:Minnie: it gives me a lovely feeling that you are looking forward to my book for Christmas. A great compliment for any author!

I'l put your story on tomorrow - looks good!

As for other books, you might like The London Murder Mysteries - listed on the first page of this website, but I have a feeling that my new book, the Debutantes, which will be out in the spring, might be more your sort of book.

In a couple of days I shall see the proposed cover for the Debutantes and I can't wait. My editor says that she loves it!

Message:I'm so excited Cora because I am getting "Jane Austen Stole my Boyfriend" For CHRISTMAS from my Mum! Yessss!!! Score! I am really excited as you can tell. I might get the mystery series you wrote too. I might sound terribly ignorant, but could you please list all the books you have written for children, so I can add them ALL to my Christmas List (apart from "I was Jane Austens best friend" I have that one it's my favourite book next to The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson-Burnett).
Minnie :) xx

Message:re request to delete all stories from one particular girl, I have to say that this would be a HUGE task and I can't see the point. Who on earth is going to trawl through back years, anyway!
In addition, I must say that I don't want to use private emails on this site.

Message:Hi Ms Harrison

I really enjoyed your books 'i was Jane Austen's best friend' and 'Jane Austen stole my boyfriend'.
i have heard from other librarians that there is a new book coming out in this series from the point of view of Captain Thomas Williams. I just wondered if this was a rumour or it is actually happening.

Thank you for your time.

Message:Welcome to the website, Aideen.

In order to put a story on, go to the home page and go along the top line (under my name). The last thing is the Story Club. Click on this and then on Story Club when you come to the group story. You'll find a space into which you either type or (and this is better) paste a story you have already saved on your computer. Don't forget to put your name and age, and your school if you are happy about that.

Message:You're right, Cora! I think we should have a competition like that on Story Club and then you could decide the winner!
Second of all, I'm super-stuck for ideas for a story to write now. I like the Victorian Era, and mystery, but I'm not too sure what to write about have you got any ideas?
Thanks :-)

Message:Hi Cora, my freind Cora o Conner was also telling me about that book. When Cora was reading the messages she said that there will be a third Jane Austan. I'll ask the teacher to order new Jane Austan books or there might be a stanta book where you can order books for yourself.

Message:Kelley: it's interesting what you said, because I was reading recently about a competition for a short, short story. It's something that expresses in a few words a whole story. An example is Hemingway:
FOR SALE A PAIR OF BABY SHOES. NEVER WORN.
Of course this brings to mind a whole story of heartbreak, of love and of loss - very effective.
Perhaps we should try a competition like that on the Story Club.

Mairead: Goodness, you must be a quick reader. See if your school will order 'Jane Austen Stole My Boyfriend' as well as 'I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend' - I think you will enjoy that.

I always find historical novels very easy to write, Cora. You can pick some exciting event in history and then have your main character present at this event.
