Amy Mc added this: | | I can't believe I told Mum about TRicia and me, now she says I have been Mean to Tricia, she's the one who has been mean , telling my secert, Lizzy says if we be friends again, she will betray me. BUT THAT'S LIZZY, she always made fun of Tricia, her name, her clothes, her hair everything I don't know where she is now, she's out.
Back at Tricia's hous. "Mum, is everything ok, why is this police man here, what happened" "Is everything ok Mrs Alcock" Dan asked. "Yes, well no, I'm afraid we have been burgeled, witness's say it was a small girl around your age, tall and skinney, lovely long blonde hair" "Oh no, has anything been taken from my room" "I'm not sure........Tricia not so fast" Tricia ran up to her room. "Dan, go with her"
Tricia searched her room, something was gone. "Has anything been taken" Dan asked. "My Diary, my China Dolls, my school books and my photgraphs and there is a note it says: IF YOU WANT YOUR STUFF BACK, MEET ME AT THE TREE OUTSIDE MY HOUSE AT 7.00 TONIGHT, IF NOT I WILL READ YOUR DIARY TO THE SCHOOL AND COME ALONE." "Do you know who it is from" Tricia looked at the note, the paper had been taken out of her diary, but the pen was pink and smelt like Strawberries. "It could be any of the cool girls in our class" "Who hates you enough to steal from you" Tricia thought and she knew.
"LIZZY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, WHAT HAVE YOU IN THAT BAG" "SCIENCE PROJECT" Lizzy ran up to her room. "We don't have a science project this week" "I know" Lizzy said and she opened the bag. Terry's eyes were wide with shock, "Lizzy what have you done"
| | I thought that was a very good idea, Amy. It makes a new and exciting twist to the story. If Lizzy is burglarising Tricia’s room – well, what exactly is she looking for? I liked the bit about the pen smelling of strawberries, too.
|
Deirdre added this: | | Tricia said good bye to Dan and walked slowly up the stairs. She sat in front of her mirror fixing her long dark hair into lots of little plaits. All the time that her fingers were working she was thinking. She hadn’t told Dan all of the truth. She didn’t dare do that. There was another thing that Lizzy – and she was sure it was Lizzy had stolen from her room. That very cool DKNY top that Tricia had found in Terry’s bag and had quickly stuffed into her own bag was missing now. "I was sure that she stole it from a shop" thought Tricia. "I just took it so that if the shopwoman sent a policeman after Terry he would find nothing. I thought I would just tell Lizzy to warn her and now it’s all a terrible mess. One thing, though I will have to meet Lizzy no matter what trouble or danger it puts me into…
| | Very good, Deirdre, now you’ve come up with a very good explanation of what is worrying Tricia. I liked the way you gave a description of Tricia and made it part of the story. |
Amy Mc added this: | | "Lizzy, I know who owns this diary, and these dolls, then name on the books, my DKNY top, where did you get this from, please don't tell me it was......." "Yes it is and because she told me you stole from a shopping market I stole from her, but thats not the only thing she told me, I can't tell you that now, hey want to take a look at her diary" "No it's private, we can't" "We can" interrupted Lizzy. "Lizzy, don't" "Now let's see, my first day at school, my favourite bands, my friends and my secerts" "Lizzy we can't, please grow up, you know what, I don't think your my real sister at all, you might look like me, but your not my sister, you have got strange, Lizzy really strange" "It's just me, no-one else, this is me Terry" she read a piece aloud from Tricias diary. "Dear Diary, Today I saw a DKNY top in Terrys bag in the shop, I took it out i think see stole it, maybe she did well I'll just take it back, even if I do get into trouble" "HOW DARE SHE SAY I STOLE IT, IT WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR HER" She ran to her room.
When Tricia went down stairs, her mother wa sitting talking on the phone, asking witness's about the robbery. "Mum I'm going out, I forgot something at Dan's house, back in 20 minutes" Tricia said lying once again. when she walked out it was dark, but the stars were out then she thouht of Terry.... "Friends are like stars, you don't always see them but you know they are there"................. | | This was a really good bit, Amy. I'm sorry I didn't comment on it before. I remember reading it but something must have distracted me. |
Claire added this: | | In the meantime while Tricia was walking towards Dan’s house Terry was running down the stairs with an air of determination on her small face. She pushed open the sitting-room door and tossed back her long blond hair. Her mother was sitting there and she was by herself. “Mum,” she said. “Tell me the truth. Is Lizzy really my sister. I know she looks like me her hair is the same and her eyes are blue but she doesn’t really look like me and she’s not a bit like me really. She thinks in a diferant way.” Her mother looked at her with shock. “your right, Terry, “ she said sadly. “Lissy is adopted. We adopted her when you were a tiny baby. She was abondond. We saw about her on the newspaper. We thought she looked very like you and she had the same birthday so we adopted her.” “Does Lizzy know this?” asked Terry in a bewildered way. “Yes, but she didn’t want you to know. Your dad and me were going to tell you soon, though. It didn’t seem fair not to tell you. I’m sorry Terry. But remember you must excuse Lizzy if she does anything bad. She may feel unhappy underneath and jealous of you.” “Mum” said Terry. “ Will you do me one favor I want to tell Tricia. I really want to tell her all about happened and I must explain about Lizzy. “Well…
| | Good, Claire, you’ve given a reason for Lizzy’s nastiness. Now what is Terry’s mother going to say? And what is Tricia going to say to Dan? I can’t wait to read the next bit. |
Rosie added this: | | , I don't know, love, you see, Lizzy is strange sometimes, you must know, it is so easy to let a secert come out, and if Tricia tells someone, by mistake, it will turn into a fight and Lizzy will be heartbroken" "Mum, you have got to understand, Lizzy is insane, she's gone over the top, she's..." "She's what" "She's gone out, I'm going to, see you in 10 minutes" "Bye. oh and Terry, don't tell Lizzy, you know, what I told you" "Don't worry Mum" And she ran out the door, trying to catch up with Lizzy.
Tricia turned to Dan's house and quickly sneaked behind the corner, just incase Mum was watching. I'm not scared, I'm not scared I'm not scared. Tricia said to herself. Then as she walked up to the tree outside Peters, walk avenue she saw, a tall girl standing there, but what was that in the distance, a girl, the same height and a it skinnier. It was Terry screaming "TRICCIA GO HOME RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND CALL THE POLICE, TELL THEM EVERYTHING RUN" she ran and so did the girl, Tricia had never been good at running she lost all the races at school, but somehow she ran and ran and she didn't look left or right and a car Lizzy was right behind here. "It's now or never" and she ran accross the road the car stopped and beeped. When she made home her Mother was lying down in bed, Tricia ran up to her and told her to phone the police, tell them the name of the burgular is Lizzy gellar, and she lives at 34 Peter's Walk Avenue, Quick" "Isn't that Terry's sister" "Yes now hurry"........
| | A very nice, realistic dialogue between the mother and Terry, Rosie. |
Grainne added this: | | Tricia’s mother went to the phone. Tricia listened. Her mother seemed a little embarrassed. She kept saying things like: ‘Yes, I know, yes I know. Girls have these little quarrels. Yes, I quite understand that you are busy with much more important things” Eventurly she put down the phone and said to Tricia “He does’nt want to do anything. He says if you know the girl then its just a bit fo childish nonsense. You and Lizzy will hav to sort it out between you.’ Tricia stared at her mother and then burst into tears. She ran out of the house sobbing…
| | Yhat's a good new twist to the story, Grainne. It's very realistic, also, as the police would not want to get involved in fights between girls of the same age. |
Amy Mc added this: | | As she left the house, Terry was waiting outside. Tricia felt embarresed to talk to Terry after being so mean and hurtful to her.
"Terry, I'm so sorry" "Don't worry about it and besides that I should be apologising for closing the door in your face this afternoon" "Why did Lizzy take my things and my Mothers prized processions" "Can't you see, Tricica, she's jealous, shes adopted......opps, I wasn't mean't to say it to anyone, please don't tell" "I won't, you kno I won't, when did you find this out, how what it can't be you look so alike" "Mum revealed it by mistake, anyway I have a plan, first, did your Mother call the police" "Yes, but they won't do anything, they say we are only young girls and we have to sort it out ourselves" "Thats great, listen before the polie get envolved, I can get evidence that Lizzy stole your things and I can also give them back to you" "I can't she, she will read my diary to the school" "Let me take care of that, in the meantime we aren't friends, ok" "Ok, bye Terry"
Terry ran down the road and back into her estate............ | | I like where you get Terry to say 'I have a plan', but you don't reveal the plan, Amy. That's always a good device to move the story on. |
Maebh added this: | | As Terry was on the way home she was thinking"Why is Lizzie jealous of me??".When she home she ran up to her room."Terry"shouted mum"Are you up there?"."Yegh I'm here"Said Terry curiously"Why"."Lizzie rang"Shouted mum"she seemed angry".My brain went into overtime!"What did she want?"hollard Terry. "You'll have to ring her said Mum."Brillaint"I thought. As I walked down the stairs, mum looked at me curiously"What are you up to?"Said mum."Nothing"I muttered.I picked up the phone
| | That's great,Maebh, you've picked up the story very well and you've moved it forward with the idea of Lizzy phoning up. Now everyone is wondering what is happening to Lizzy and what she is doing. |
Claire added this: | | Terry dialled the number of Lizzy’s mobile phone. ”I’m kinda glad she’s not my real sister, that she's only adoptd,” she muttered to herself. “She’s a real pain.” The phone rang and rang and rang but there was no answur. First of all Terry just felt impashiont, standing there taping her toe and pushing her blond hair out of her eyes, but then she began to feel a bit panicky. Lizzy always had her phone with her. She even went to bed with it under her pillow. Where was Lizzy and what was happening? What on earth will I do, she thought...
| | Well done, Claire, you've kept the tension going. |
Amy Mc added this: | | I know she's a pain and all but it would still be upsetting to see her gone, out of my life.......forever, Mum and Dad would be upset too, I have to go and find her quick,
As she ran down the hills and valleys searching for Lizzy, she remembered the good days, when they were just Terry and Lizzy the twins at randell High. That they would always be friends and play games like, faires and things. "Oh please be ok"
She couldn't find her anywhere, where is she Terry thought to herself. She gave up searching after hours. "Mother must be worried sick about me", Terry said. When she arrived she saw Dad's car was home, the gate rusty and black as always, but something was different, she could feel the presence of Lizzy. She walked in the house and up the stairs, tears in her eyes, and into the room with their bunk-beds. Lizzy was cracking up laughing on the bed" I scared you didn't I | | I liked the bit about searching for Lizzy, Amy. You gave a great feeling of worry and tension to that. |
